Meet Alexander
A Proven Leader. A True Neighbor. Your Voice.
As an IPS parent, father of three, veteran, and public servant, Alex has built his career around serving others and bringing people together to solve problems. Alex is running for IPS School Board At-Large because he believes every child deserves a school where they feel supported, challenged, and seen. His time in the Indiana Air National Guard taught him the importance of leadership, accountability, and showing up for the people who count on you. His work in community organizing and Democratic Party leadership has given him the opportunity to bring people from different backgrounds together, listen to their concerns, and turn those conversations into action. Those experiences have shaped how Alex leads today: by listening first, asking tough questions, building relationships, and staying focused on the people he is there to serve. As a parent, he wants to bring that same approach to the IPS School Board.
A Bold Vision. Real Solutions
Opportunity
Giving every student great teachers, meaningful experiences, resources, and relationships that may not otherwise be part of their lives.
Access
Giving every student great teachers, meaningful experiences, resources, and relationships that may not otherwise be part of their lives, while supporting educators so every student has the opportunity to learn from a great teacher.
Transparency
Being clear with families about school results, district investments, and major initiatives, so parents can understand what’s happening, why decisions are being made, and whether they’re working.
Success
Whether it’s on the football field, in the classroom, or preparing for life after graduation, our schools should create environments that build confidence, develop the whole student, and prepare the next generation to lead.
Every child deserves a school that makes them believe in what’s possible.

Why Alex...
IPS Parent
As an IPS Parent: I know how hard it can be to make the right decisions for our children, our most precious responsibility. Like many parents, I’ve had to navigate school choices, understand what options are available, and figure out what is really best for my kids. I know personally how important it is to have a clear path and honest, transparent information when making those decisions. Every family deserves that same clarity. Our children should be at the center of every decision we make, and parents should have a real voice in those decisions. At the end of the day, our schools should serve our students and families, and every decision should be about helping our kids learn, grow, and thrive.
Proven Leader
Alex’s leadership has been shaped by nearly two decades of service to his country, his city, and his community. During nearly 10 years in the Indiana Air National Guard, he learned that leadership means being accountable, staying prepared, and making decisions that affect the people who depend on you. That experience gave him a strong foundation in teamwork, problem-solving, and leading through challenges.
After his military service, Alex continued serving Indianapolis through community and public-sector work, gaining firsthand experience with how local government operates and how decisions made inside public institutions impact families and neighborhoods. His work has put him in rooms with parents, community leaders, elected officials, and residents, giving him a broader understanding of the challenges families face and the importance of making government work for the people it serves.
His experience in Democratic Party leadership has further challenged him to bring people together around shared goals, build relationships across different communities, organize people to take action, and navigate difficult conversations. From the military to local government to party leadership, Alex has consistently been trusted with responsibility and with bringing people together to get the work done. He understands that leadership is not simply about holding a position. It is about earning trust, listening to people, making informed decisions, and being willing to stand behind those decisions. That is the kind of leadership he would bring to the IPS School Board.
